Thoroughbred & American Quarter Horse Breeding

Excellence in Every Generation.

Rolling Sunset is an American equine production company building two distinct breeding programs, one for Thoroughbreds and one for American Quarter Horses, beginning with the careful selection of our foundation stock.

Where we are today

A program in its founding stage

Rolling Sunset is at the beginning of its story. We are defining the objectives for each breed program and preparing to acquire the horses that will form our foundation. We would rather say so plainly than suggest a history we have not yet earned.

What we can share now is our intent: to select horses with care, to look after them responsibly, and to make breeding decisions with the next several generations in mind.

Two programs

Distinct breeds, developed on their own terms

Thoroughbreds and American Quarter Horses differ in build, history and purpose. Each will have its own objectives and selection criteria rather than a single standard applied to both.

Program one

Thoroughbred

A breed shaped over centuries for speed, stamina and athletic scope. Our Thoroughbred program will focus on correct, sound individuals whose pedigrees suit clearly defined breeding objectives.

Program two

American Quarter Horse

Compact, strong and known for quickness and a willing disposition. Our Quarter Horse program will look for balanced conformation, soundness and temperament alongside careful pedigree review.

Acquisition planning is underway

We are preparing to acquire the horses that will establish both programs. Each candidate will be evaluated for pedigree, conformation, soundness, temperament and health before any decision is made.

As acquisitions are completed, verified profiles will be published on our Foundation Stock page.

What guides us

The values we intend to build on

  1. Thoughtful selection

Every horse we consider will be measured against clear program objectives, so each acquisition is a deliberate choice rather than an opportunity taken in haste.

  2. Responsible stewardship

The health, welfare and daily care of each horse come first. We intend to plan our numbers around the standard of care we can provide.

  3. Long-term development

A breeding program is measured in generations. We are building for the horses that will follow our foundation stock, and the ones after them.
